Rising chef Callum Irwin has been crowned overall winner of the Feile Balmoral Hotel Pro Master Chef competition, following an outstanding performance against some of Northern Ireland’s most promising culinary talent.

Representing Ulster University Business School, Callum progressed through a series of competitive heats before securing the top title at the final, earning recognition for his technical skill, creativity and professionalism under pressure.

At the time of the competition, Callum was working as part of the kitchen team at The Muddlers Club, Belfast, gaining experience in a high-performing, Michelin-starred environment. His success at the Feile competition further marked him out as a chef to watch, demonstrating both industry readiness and the ability to excel on a public competitive stage.

As part of his win, Callum was awarded a prestigious stage opportunity with Michelin-starred chef Nigel Haworth, providing valuable exposure to elite culinary practice and mentorship at the highest level.

The Feile Balmoral Hotel Pro Master Chef competition was designed to highlight emerging talent within the hospitality sector, promote local produce, and raise awareness of the skills and dedication required to succeed in professional kitchens. Callum’s performance exemplified these aims, combining classical technique with a modern, confident approach to cooking.
